Phil!!! We did not see eye to eye on health care, but I am so very glad we share the same opinion of immigration. My family, generations ago, came to this land America looking to better their lives. They came with no visas, no jobs, and their dreams. Who am I to say that Mexicans do not deserve the same opportunities? People (unsuccessfully) argue that they steal jobs from Americans, do not pay taxes, and are stigmatized as criminals. Nothing could be further from the truth. The hispanics I have known have all been hard working people who are willing to do whatever it takes to provide for their families, even if that means working 2 or 3 jobs. What we need is more compassion for immigrants. We need to embrace the American Dream, not hate.

@Sarah, it's always a pleasure to hear from you. I'm glad my thoughts allowed you to grow. I've found as I more fully immerse myself into the world of politics I have had to broaden my mind. I am where I am because of months of discussion, readying, studying and trying to understand why people think the way they think. I love the fact that people can disagree and be civil about it. In my opinion, that is the core motive behind our political system, and that is what makes America Great.

Phil- I love your point of view. I honestly do. It is refreshing. I may not agree on every point, that is for sure. BUT I love your point of view. It gave me more to think about and in some areas allowed my opinion to change and become better educated. Thank you :) I miss you!

Direct and to the point. Wrong is wrong epically when its based on a bad idea. The law passed violates civil rights and allows for profiling. I believe that all people in this country should be here legally. I also think we need to incorporate Mexico into the United States. Then I could go to Cancun without a passport and save $100. $100 for a passport is wrong and bad which makes it wrongie-baddy. Also Phil has one of the best moral compasses of anyone I know.
